Empowering Singapore’s SMEs to Go Digital

SMEs are at the heart of Singapore’s economy, representing 99 percent of all enterprises locally. While SMEs contribute nearly half of the city-state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the SME Digital Transformation study conducted by Microsoft Singapore in partnership with the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (ASME) revealed that many SMEs still face barriers in their digital transformation journey.

Nonetheless, the opportunities that digital transformation presents to SMEs are wide-ranging. In fact, the Study revealed that Singapore SMEs who are actively implementing digital initiatives projected that their investments will deliver an average of 26 percent in revenue gains and achieve an average of 22 percent in cost savings.

As a company with a mission to empower every person and organisation on the planet to achieve more, Microsoft is committed to helping SMEs in Singapore realise their full potential through technology. In the last five years alone, Microsoft has reached over 100,000 unique SME customers through over 1,000 business partners, who are often SMEs themselves. Microsoft is also working with the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and ASME to further accelerate SMEs’ digital transformation in the city-state.
